|
| 8Ports 10M/100M Switch |
| With the FX-08EA, you don't have to worry about straight/crossover cable differences any more- the Auto MDI/MDI-X feature automatically supports both cable types on all of the five ports, Its slim AC adapter provides added usability as well. |

All the 8 ports support Auto MDI/X |
| |
All of the Eight ports on the FX-08EA support Auto MDI/MDIX, a built-in function that automatically recognizes the type ( straight/crossover) of the attached cable. This feature effectively removes all wiring troubles caused by a cable type mismatch. It also lets you use a straight cable when cascading the FX-08EA to another switch. |

Store-and-Forward blocks error packets |
| |
The switch first stores received data frames in a buffer memory, and then uses FCS (Frame Check Sequence) at the end of the frames to check for errors. Since frames with errors are removed within the switch, this scheme prevents the generation of unwanted network traffic. |

High communication efficiency achieved via Flow Control |
| |
The FX-08EA supports Flow Control (IEEE802.3x in full duplex mode, Back Pressure in half duplex mode). In the case of ordinary switches, a concentration of traffic on a specific port leads to severe performance degradation since free buffer memory and the bandwidth of the port decrease, disabling smooth retrieval and storage of frames on the buffer memory. Excess packets are discarded, causing frame losses. On the other hand, the FX-08EA uses Flow Control to stop the transmission of signals on the attached devices to directly eliminate bandwidth mismatches
In full duplex mode: The switch uses IEEE802.3 flow control to send a pause signal to the attached computer, causing the PC to stop sending signals.
In half duplex mode: The switch uses Back Pressure, a flow control scheme that stops signal transmission from the attached PC by sending virtual jam signals to create a state of data collision.

Fan-less, noiseless design / lightweight plastic body |
| |
No fan is used inside the switch since it utilizes a new chip with low heat generation. Totally devoid of irritating fan noise, the FX-08EA is hardly a nuisance in your office. Furthermore, the magnets on the base of the lightweight plastic body enables side-mount installation of the switch on your steel desk, etc. |
