8 Ports 10/100Mbps Switch
Since the compact chassis of the S-0808P contains both standard eight 10/100BASE-TX ports and eight PoE power supply 10/100BASE-TX ports, it can be installed easily in each "block" of desks for a division or group at your office. . The product also supports QoS, the de-facto prerequisite technology for implementing IP telephony to enable the construction of high-quality data communication environment.

On-board PoE(Power over Ethernet)function
Eight ports out of the built-in sixteen ports of the product support IEEE802.3af compliant PoE function. Each of the these eight ports can supply both communication data and power via a single Ethernet cable. As long as the device at each end of the connection (cable) supports IEEE802.3af PoE, the device requires no separate power source/cable. This way, the product significantly enhances the flexibility of network device layout in your office. Furthermore, the PoE switch eases power management of attached devices as it can remotely turn on/off their power.

Clients are grouped logically via VLAN
The port-based VLAN function of the product supports up to 16 groups, and client terminals attached to the product can be grouped by each port. Since the switch also supports multiple VLAN's, a single port may be assigned to multiple groups. All these features allow you to establish a logical network segment that is totally independent of the actual physical network configuration.

QoS controls the quality of communication
Its built-in IEEE802.1p compliant QoS(2-level) controls the quality of communication. For instance, traffic streams may be prioritized so that voice and related streams have higher availability in the entire network.

Store-and-Forward blocks error packets
The S-0808P utilizes Store-and-Forward as its data transfer method to block error packets internally and thereby prevents the generation of unwanted traffic.

Port Mirroring
Packets received or transmitted via a certain port can be copied (“mirrored”) to another port. A monitoring device such as Sniffer or RMON probe can be attached to one of the product's ports to inspect the packets that pass through another (target) port.

All ports support AutoMDI/MDI-X
Since all of the sixteen ports support AutoMDI/MDI-X, the product automatically detects the straight-through/crossover type of the attached cable. In this manner, the switch prevents cabling problems caused by cable type mismatch.
