- Support IGMP snooping to limit flooding of IP multicast traffic and filtering for controlling the set of multicast groups to which hosts on a switch port can belong
- Supports Rapid Spanning Tree (IEEE802.1w) and Multiple Spanning Tree (IEEE802.1s) for loop free installation
- Supports IEEE802.1Q tagged based VLAN for assigning users to VLAN associated with appropriate network resources, traffic patterns, and bandwidth
